The Opposaurus Jrs have been tasked with building construction vehicles for preschool. MY first thought was a popsicle stick and toothpick tower crane. My wife does not agree. We need to do 2 vehicles (one for each child
materials are standard household crap such as paper towel rolls, milk cartons,etc....
I guess these need to look like they could have been constructed by 4 y/o’s
when i was in college i made re-usable plastic formwork to build a multi-story building out of plaster

Just because the four year olds have to build them doesn’t mean you can’t set out the design. With a spec model they can copy.

How... how is that a construction vehicle?

Mining vehicles count as construction vehicle if the structure is big enough, right?

Oh man, your homework is really specific, my 4 year old’s pre-k assignment was “make something with a box.”

while a good idea, it would not satisfy the requirements of being a construction vehicle

this is only the second project we’ve had to do. the first was to disguise a turkey so it wouldn;t get eaten on thanksgiving. One kid made it into a xmas tree the other a cupcake. We didn;t realize the flaw with that disguise until we were all done.

Oh man, I am going to have the hardest time sitting on my hands when my kids get tasked with this kind of thing.

Yea, i’m like we could build a dump truck and use jar lids ans wheels and paper towel rolls as axels and half a milk carton for a dump bed and we could even use chop sticks as pins so that the bed can hing, then child #2 can make a front end loader , how do we get a hydraulic system in there made of straws....

You gotta think of the kids as the project manager in these situations.
